6. When you are completely DONE with your dance(s) you may leave.

7. Do not leave ANY costumes/props in the building. Take them home!

Once students are in the hallway, there should be limited, whispered, talking.

Once students are in the wings/stage area, there is NO talking unless there is an "emergency".

Parents, kindly do NOT stay in the backstage area. Teachers and Company dancers will help with children. We canNOT have 100 parents staying backstage and run the show effectively. Please drop them off and pick them up PROMPTLY after their performance. At that time, they may sit with their family and watch the remainder of the show!

Storm and Lillie's family are very excited and grateful for this special day. Let's keep the "Big Picture" and holiday spirit in mind...and here we goooooo!

A Holiday Surprise 12/19 at LACS

Rhonda’s FooteWorks Outreach Company proudly presents “A Holiday Surprise” at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19th. The productions will be held in the auditorium of Lowville Academy.

“A Holiday Surprise” is a dance, voice and acting production written and directed by Company Director, Rhonda Foote. It tells the story of a young girl visiting New York City during the holiday season. When the girl is separated from her family, she is befriended by a boy who leads her through the city to find her family. On their way, they view all of the city’s holiday splendor and witness dancers, skaters, and much more. The show finishes with a version of the Radio City Rockette kickline.

There is no admission charge for this wonderful holiday event. Director, Rhonda Foote says, “This is an event the entire family will enjoy that will showcase talented local children”. There will be a silent auction table in the lobby and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from the auction and raffle will combine with a free will donation taken during the show to benefit two very special North Country children in need of Christmas miracles.

The 2:00 p.m. show benefits Storm Wood, 18 years old, from Watertown and features the Evans Mills studio cast. Storm has battled Muscular Dystrophy most of his life. The past three years have been especially difficult for Storm. He is currently unable to leave one room in his home where he sleeps, eats, bathes and spends each day. Storm is a strong and bright young man who has initiated his own Facebook group to hopefully catch the eye of America’s Extreme Make Over team! Storm loves the Yankees, other people and life in general.

The 7:00 p.m. show is to benefit Lilliana Passage from Carthage and features the Lowville studio cast. Lilly is barely two years old and is battling stage four Neuroblastoma. The family recently received news that this rare cancer has reached Lilly’s lungs and bone marrow. She is receiving treatment in Syracuse and the family is facing a great deal of travel and bills very suddenly. This little girl will captivate you with her sweet smile and we hope to make her and her family’s holidays a bit brighter.

Rhonda’s FooteWorks operates studios in Evans Mills and Lowville. The studio opened its doors in the North Country in 1987 and the Outreach Company was formed in 2004. Company Director, Rhonda Foote, estimates that the company has raised close to $10,000.00 for local families in need since that time. The company’s mission statement is “to use our talents to improve the communities we live in through performance and outreach”. For further information about the production or the studios, please contact rhondasfooteworks@yahoo.com or call, 767-3978. Donations are also being accepted for the silent auction.

RFW hosts THRIVE instructors for workshop

Company dancers from Rhonda's FooteWorks had the unique opportunity to take classes the weekend of October 24th with THRIVE instructors Jamie Gallo and Alex "Larkin" Symanietz.
The dancers took class in hip hop and contemporary dance styles with these incredibly talented performers and instructors. Jamie Gallo hails from Plymouth, Michigan where she grew up dancing. She has won many overall high schore titles at the National level. She has studied on scholarship with many prestigous dance organizations. At age 18, Jamie moved to New Jersey and now attends Ramapo College and instructs at Robin Horneff's Performing Arts Center. She also travels teaching for the Larkins and THRIVE.
Alex "Larkin" Symanietz grew up in the twin cities of Minnesota where he took dance from the famed Larkin family (which he is a member of!). Alex has been in commercials for Target, Best Buy, Oscar Meyer and Paul Mitchell. He currently goes to Ramapo College in New Jersey and instructs for the Larkin family and is on the THRIVE circuit tour. After receiving his degree, Alex plans to pursue a career in dance and entertainment in L.A.
The dancers from Rhonda's FooteWorks worked hard for the two days and left the studio inspired to work even harder in the future.
Rhonda's FooteWorks is located in Evans Mills and Lowville, NY. Visit www.rfwdance.blogspot.com for further information or call 767-3978.

Operation Christmas Child/Make A Difference Day Project

For the second consecutive year, I have chosen Operation Christmas Child in memory of Emily Barger as our Make a Difference day Project.

In Evans Mills, please bring small gifts and shoe boxes to the cubby area as donations. I am asking for a few company parents to arrange the day to fill and wrap the boxes.

In Lowville, please bring small gifts and shoe boxes to the back storage area as donations. I am asking for a few parents to agree to arrange the day to fill and wrap the boxes.

Each box will contain a pink "memory butterfly" for Emily and a letter telling her story. For those of you who do not know, Emily Barger was the TN Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network in 2008 when Madi represented NYS. Madi and Emily became fast friends on their special tour, as I did with her parents, Misty and Brian. Emily lost her long battle with a rare form of kidney cancer in June of 2008 at the age of 7. We continue to hold her family close in prayer and think of her every day. It is the Barger families goal to spread news of the Butterfly Fund started in Emily's memory and to let others around the world know of Emily's story.

Please let me know if you are available to help with our Make A Difference day project. Last year, we donated 55 boxes. Let's set our goal for 100 boxes this year between the two studios!

Fall is "falling into place"

We are off to an amazing start at RFW this season!
Thanks to all for their talents, patience and enthusiasm.

We are:
1. Putting up mirrors in Lowville this week
2. Putting up new/more mirrors in Rm 2 at Evans Mills in October
3. Putting observation monitors in rm 1 and 2 at Evans Mills in November so that you can see your child in class while in the waiting area.
4. Updating our stereo systems in both Lowville and rm 2 of Evans Mills by the 1st of the year.
5. Working on a new website where you can click on your studio, company or information from one central location on the web!

Updated schedules and information packets will be available in October.

Please make sure that you check out your child's costume at the desk (books in Lowville weeks #4 and #5, back to Evans Mills weeks #6 and #7). I am working on the costume blog and hope to have that up and running asap!

Remember, fill out your registration sheet; company dancers return your non compete forms, and check out your costumes at the desk if you have not already done so.

Thanks! Rhonda

Precautions made at our studio to help keep your dancer healthy!

Parents and Students:

I have contacted my staff and desk attendants, and want to share with you our pro-active approach to keeping our studio a safe and healthy place for your child. This is directly in response to the recent and on going influenza scare.

Our staff will be wiping down all frequently touched areas of the studio prior to classes each day. This includes door knobs, fixtures, dance barres and other areas. We will encourage students to wash their hands after sneezing and coughing. I will be removing the books and toys from the waiting area until further notice.

We ask that you assist in keeping our dancers healthy. If you or your child is feverish, coughing or ill, kindly do not bring them to dance class. There are always make-up class options, and we appreciate your help in this.

The health and well being of your "little dancer" is always a primary concern at the studio.

Thank you,
Rhonda Foote
Director
